Last updated: [placeholder date]

Kindred Pathways Foundation Limited (ABN 67 689 080 939), referred to here as Kindred Pathways, we, us or our, respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

The information we collect

We only collect personal information we need. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Your name, email address, phone number and postal address.
  • Donation details, including the amount, frequency and any dedication, and the information needed to issue your tax-deductible receipt.
  • Payment information, which is handled by our secure third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card details.
  • Information you give us when you volunteer, partner, seek support, subscribe to updates, or contact us.
  • Website information collected automatically, such as your device and browser type, pages visited, and cookie data, where you have allowed it.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you donate, fill in a form, subscribe, or contact us. We also collect some information automatically through our website and cookies, and occasionally from third parties such as our payment provider, where you have dealt with them in connection with us.

Why we use it

We use your personal information to process your donation and issue a receipt, respond to your enquiry, manage volunteering and partnership requests, send you updates if you have asked to receive them, run and improve our website, and meet our legal, financial and regulatory obligations as a charity.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed: with trusted service providers who help us operate, such as our payment provider, email and hosting providers, and website analytics; with our vetted partner organisations only where necessary to deliver a program; and where we are required or permitted to by law. We require our service providers to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Information sent overseas

Kindred Pathways works in Australia and the Philippines. Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not routinely send supporter information to our partners overseas, and only share what is necessary to deliver a program.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies to make the site work and to understand how it is used. You can choose what to allow through our cookie banner, and you can change your browser settings to limit cookies. Some parts of the site may not work as well if cookies are turned off.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit who can access it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and to meet our legal and financial obligations. Donation and financial records are kept for the period required by the ATO and the ACNC. When we no longer need information, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. To do this, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we will let you know if we cannot give access for a reason allowed by law.

Marketing and unsubscribing

We only send you updates if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails, or by contacting us, and we will stop sending you marketing messages.

Our website is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website without the consent of a parent or guardian. The way we protect children in our programs is set out in our Child Safeguarding Policy.
